 Recommitting vs Repeating

recommiting.png

In the mental skills world there is a lot of talk about dealing with failure.

While dealing with failure is important, I think that dealing with success is just as important.

Many athletes finally reach the point of dealing with success, but find themselves ill-equipped to maintain that success.

The biggest trap I see is players trying to repeat their performances instead of recommitting to the process, preparation, and mindset that led to the success in the first place.

The temptation is trying to repeat past results. The answer is trusting your process/mindset and recommitting to it each day.

This is much easier said than done, but if you become elite at recommitting, you will give yourself the best chance to maintain your success.
