Beneath The Podium

Many athletes and talented individuals fall into the trap of wanting others' approval to an unhealthy degree.
It's understandable why you would want others to recognize how much work you actually put in when nobody is watching, but it can very quickly lead to unhealthy pressure and disappointment.
The problem is that "regular people" will never understand the amount of drive, failure, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that goes into the final product they see on the field, court, balance sheet, etc.
Stop trying to prove other people wrong or looking for them to justify your journey and accomplishments.
While it's great to share your wins with those close to you... if you expect them to understand the true sacrifices you make, you will regularly be disappointed.
Own your career. Own your hard work. Own your performance.
When we take ownership of our careers, it is easier to perform with freedom, peace, and self-belief.
Whose opinion do you care too much about right now?
How is it holding you back?
What adjustment and mindset shift do you want to make?
